I contacted the Army Corps of Engineers to get more information about what they do with the logs that they corral. They try to empty the holding pen monthly and also make a monthly round of Lake Washington as their schedule permits. The collected debris is off-loaded onto storage barges at the Ballard Locks. They dispose of usable debris to government agencies for restoration work or recycle it. The rest goes to the landfill.

South of I-90, if they are floating, and therefore a hazard to navigation, the Mercer Island Marine Patrol will make every effort to pick them up, as their schedule permits: 206 275-7953. It is reported that they have towed over 600 logs in the last four months. They have a holding pen for the logs under the I-90 bridge in the East Channel, just north of their parking area. The Corps of Engineers removes the logs from the storage area. Does anyone know what the Corps does with them after that?

The expensive condo's are not selling and Bremerton's downtown is still an business wasteland. The marina is empty and will never survive without taxpayers bailing it out every year. The handful of wealthy old retirees moving downtown in don't have much life left in them. Mayor Bozeman uses his cronies from Bellevue to ramrod growth the citizens of Bremerton don't want and can't afford.

I think waterfront is very handy when we refer to the price of the homes that contain them. They really add more value to the property and give the sellers a chance to get some good profit out of that deal. These waterfronts are always lovely to watch and even enjoying there in the water. That's what gets the attraction of the buyers towards these homes and properties.

Definitely agree. The combination of a very long stretch of walkable beach and exercise path, little shops and restaurants, community feel, spectacular views, and the "Northwest Riviera" of condos and old beach shacks all make for an enjoyable walk by the Sound.
